Molecular characterization of necromenic nematode Pristionchus pacificus and associated bacteria: A new record

چکیده

The vast diversity of nematodes has adapted to endure in different trophic groups as free living and parasites plants animals. In search potential entomopathogenic (EPNs), soil samples were collected from, the rhizosphere Apple orchard Darima, Nainital, Uttarakhand, India north-western Himalaya August 2019. whole experimental activity carried out at ICAR-Vivekanada Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora during 2019–2021. present study, Pristionchus pacificus was isolated using Corcyra bait trap, identified based on morphological molecular approaches, studied its host range, evaluated phylogenetic tree P. characterized nematode associated bacteria. reproduction frequency emergence differs significantly among tested hosts Corcyra, Spodoptera Holotrichia larvae. diagnostics bacteria 16S gene displayed highest homology with Myroides marinus strain. discovery VLPP01 represents first record from Himalayan region.

RNAi mediated gene knockdown and transgenesis by microinjection in the necromenic Nematode Pristionchus pacificus.

Although it is increasingly affordable for emerging model organisms to obtain completely sequenced genomes, further in-depth gene function and expression analyses by RNA interference and stable transgenesis remain limited in many species due to the particular anatomy and molecular cellular biology of the organism. For example, outside of the crown group Caenorhabditis that includes Caenorhabdit...

The cGMP signaling pathway affects feeding behavior in the necromenic nematode Pristionchus pacificus

BACKGROUND The genetic tractability and the species-specific association with beetles make the nematode Pristionchus pacificus an exciting emerging model organism for comparative studies in development and behavior. P. pacificus differs from Caenorhabditis elegans (a bacterial feeder) by its buccal teeth and the lack of pharyngeal grinders, but almost nothing is known about which genes coordina...

Pristionchus pacificus: a well-rounded nematode.

Nematodes pervade Earth's biosphere and occupy innumerable ecological niches. The role of Caenorhabditis elegans as a model for developmental processes has encouraged us to cultivate a second nematode, Pristionchus pacificus, as a comparative counterpoint to address questions in development, behavior and ecology in nematode evolution. We hope that this endeavor, now more than a decade underway,...

Pristionchus pacificus.

In the last decade, nematodes other than C. elegans have been studied intensively in evolutionary developmental biology. A few species have been developed as satellite systems for more detailed genetic and molecular studies. One such satellite species is the diplogastrid nematode Pristionchus pacificus. Here, I provide an overview about the biology, phylogeny, ecology, genetics and genomics of ...

Isolation of naturally associated bacteria of necromenic Pristionchus nematodes and fitness consequences.

Nematodes and bacteria are major components of the soil ecosystem. Many nematodes use bacteria for food, whereas others evolved specialized bacterial interactions ranging from mutualism to parasitism. Little is known about the biological mechanisms by which nematode-bacterial interactions are achieved, largely because in the laboratory nematodes are often cultured under artificial conditions. W...
